I lived in this neighborhood (Federal Hill) for 17 years. I worked on the 25th floor of the tallest building on the left for 5 years. It was then the USF&G Insurance Company. I could see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge from my desk, My great grandfather's company, Egerton Brothers, was on the same site for many years.
The tall building on the right is the World Trade Center.

The Energy Department's coffee table book, "A Decade of Discovery," which looks at the discoveries and technological innovation coming out Energy's 17 national laboratories. The image is "hundreds of particle tracks streaming from a collision of gold ions traveling near the speed of light in the STAR detector at Brookhaven Lab's Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). Evidence suggests that golf-gold collisions at RHIC are creating a new state of hot, dense matter -- a 'perfect' liquid that is quite different and even more remarkable then the gas that had been predicted by theory."
